Nevada Workers’ Compensation Attorney Jason Mills has been practicing workers’ compensation law in Las Vegas since 2000, and assists injured workers throughout the state of Nevada.
Jason Mills was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He learned a respect for hard work from his parents who both worked in busy Las Vegas casinos. At the age of fourteen, he began working after school at a local plant nursery where he further honed his respect for hard work. After graduating from Western High School, Jason Mills attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1996. Mr. Mills then attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. While pursuing his law degree Mr. Mills joined the law school’s national Gafford Mock Trial Team and was elected to be the Student Bar Association Vice-President. In 2000, Mr. Mills returned to Las Vegas and obtained his license to practice law in Nevada and begun his professional legal career. Mr. Mills also became licensed to practice law in the state of Washington in 2015.
Mr. Mills focuses his practice on Nevada workers’ compensation claims representing Nevada’s injured workers. Indeed, many new clients are regularly referred to him by not only former clients who are highly satisfied with the outcome of their worker’s comp cases, but also from fellow attorneys throughout the Nevada bar who recognize Mr. Mills’ legal skill in the field of Nevada workers’ compensation law. Professionally, there is nothing that Mr. Mills enjoys more than helping Nevada’s injured workers get the benefits they are owed.
Over his career Mr. Mills has acted as lead counsel on several thousand contested workers’ compensation claims. He has developed a reputation as a tireless advocate for his injured clients. Mr. Mills has successfully litigated workers’ compensation cases through the Nevada Industrial Insurance system at all levels of the administrative law process; from the initial Hearing Office through the Nevada Supreme Court. After his former partner retired from the practice of law in December 2017, Mr. Mills continues to operate and rebranded the law firm as Jason D. Mills & Associates.
Mr. Mills is also active in the state trial lawyers association, the Nevada Justice Association (NJA). In that capacity Mr. Mills has both lobbied and testified for the NJA on important issues related to Nevada’s injured workers at the Nevada Legislature since 2015. In 2016 Mr. Mills was elected to the Board of Governors for the NJA. In 2017 Mr. Mills was awarded the NJA’s “Badger Award” for his distinguished service to the association and the people of the State of Nevada. In 2018 Mr. Mills was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Citizens for Justice, the NJA political action committee. In 2018 the State Bar of Nevada selected Mr. Mills as one of the five co-founding board members to serve on the State Bar of Nevada Board of Workers’ Compensation Legal Specialization in order to create and administer a state bar certification and testing process for attorney specialization in the field of Nevada workers’ compensation law. Mr. Mills is also a member of the national trial lawyers association, the American Association of Justice (AAJ) and Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG).
Mr. Mills’ office is conveniently located inside the same building that houses the Nevada workers’ compensation courts. He is married and has a lovely daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling abroad with them. Recreationally, Mr. Mills has a life-long love of motorcycles and general aviation.

March 17, 2020 Update.
As efforts concerning the containment of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continue to evolve here in the U.S. and around the world, we want to assure you that Jason D. Mills & Associates remains committed to three important priorities:
Our offices remain open for business; however, we encourage all existing clients to help us limit exposure and the potential spread of COVID-19 by avoiding in-office meetings. We remain open for business virtually during normally scheduled work hours (9:00 am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday). All email, fax, telephone, and other electronic communication will continue without interruption. If you have a scanner please scan documents and send to us in .PDF format. If you do not have a scanner, there are smart phone apps available such as: CamScanner, Adobe Scan and Genius Scan (and many others), that will turn your smart phone into a document scanner at zero or little cost.
Our local courts continue to update and modify their policies and procedures in response to the current COVID-19 situation as well, and we are monitoring those procedures to navigate the impact on your claims. So far, the Hearing and Appeals Office has halted all in-person hearings and is in the process of converting future hearings into telephonic hearings. As we learn more, we will provide updated information.
We also know that many of you have been personally impacted in a number of ways, and we apologize for any inconvenience these modifications may cause you but of course we are all experiencing this disruption together and will get through it together. We will resume normal operations as soon as the local, state and national governments give instructions that it is reasonable to do so. We appreciate your flexibility as we do our part to help bring this unprecedented situation under control.
Again, we are fully operational and are actively working on your claims. If there is anything you need, please feel free to contact our office (telephonically or electronically) during office hours so that we can direct your call and follow up accordingly.
